This family-run property, built in 1937 and situated in the countryside around Martina Franca, holds within its walls an ancient history steeped in tradition, a slow-paced way of life and a deep connection to the Apulian region.

It all began generations ago, with my grandfather and my father, when the estate was the hub of local rural life. The rooms that now welcome travellers were originally spaces for work and subsistence. Through careful restoration work, the original exposed stone architecture has been preserved, allowing guests to experience the authenticity of the past without sacrificing modern comforts.

The property is divided into four  accommodations, each preserving a fragment of this rural heritage:

• Il Trullo Grande (60 m²): the main building that once housed the beating heart of domestic life.
• Il Pagliaio (45 m²): the old hayloft, now transformed into a cool and elegant retreat, characterised by its high vaulted ceilings.
• Il Forno (22 m²): the space where the community once gathered to bake fragrant bread
• Il Trulletto (16 m²): a small but cosy space for those seeking the authentic experience of sleeping beneath a conical stone dome.

Today, those who choose to stay at Il Carpino find not just a holiday home, but a true immersion in the tranquillity of Puglia. Between a dip in the outdoor pool, a barbecue in the garden and the rejuvenating silence of the Martinese countryside, the property continues to write its own story, transforming its ancient farming heritage into an unforgettable hospitality experience
